Mortality by diagnosis and treatment status
February 2014, Durban, South Africa.
The workshop was hosted by the Africa Centre for Health and Population Studies. Participants from Karonga, Kisesa, Manicaland, Masaka, Rakai, uMkhanyakude, Agincourt, Kisumu and Ifakara came together to review analyses of mortality at different stages of the care and treatment cascade. Studies combined available data on HIV status, self-reported HIV test, care and treatment status, information from verbal autopsy and clinical records to map the journey of individuals along the HIV care continuum from infection to diagnosis, care and treatment and to measure mortality at each stage.
The dataset produced is described in this paper.
